WW1 United Alkali Co Ltd war workers badge Widnes, Borough of Halton, Cheshire

A scarce original First World War period 'Serving The Empire' 'United Alkali Co Ltd explosives and warfare gases war workers lapel badge'; gilt brass crowned blue enamel title circlet, the centre displaying an embossed 'UAC' monogram over the symbol of unity, a pair of shaking hands, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'T. FATTORINI BOLTON' and official issue number '956'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Height approx 36mm.
