Description

A scarce original 1930's promotional gilt and enamel song badge 'The Lambeth Walk', this version depicting the 'Pearly King and Queen' characters characters in yellow, green and blue outfits; the reverse with maker's details 'H.W.MILLER LTD B'HAM 18'. Very good condition, complete with original coiled pin fitting and hook catch, enamel with minor surface scratches Height 28mm. 'The Lambeth Walk' was a song from the musical 'Me and My Girl' first made popular in 1937 by Lupino Lane, The song took its name from a notable street market in Lambeth Walk, London. 'The Lambeth Walk' was turned into a film in 1939.
