BOAC Airline Navigator Officer gilt brevet uniform badge

A scarce original circa 1940's early issue 'British Overseas Airways Corporation Navigating Officer badge', rich gilt brevet wing, central initial 'N' on blue enamel ground, surmounted by 'BOAC Astral Crown'. Very good used condition, complete with original two loop fittings and retaining split pin, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Size approx 52 x 27mm. 'British Overseas Airways Corporation' was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to become 'British Airways'.
