Description

A rare original First World War period 'HIS MAJESTY'S DRIFTER HMD ISCO pin brooch' a hired trawler on war service between 1915 and 1919 as a net vessel minesweeper; in the form of a hollow anchor with blue enamel curved title scroll. bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1916 and maker's details 'T & S' (Turner & Simpson Birmingham). Very good mint condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, an excellent example. Height 37mm.
