Victory Medal, named to: 290845 PTE.A.SMITH R.HIGHRS. (Black Watch) Archibald Smith was born in Gorebridge in 1890.Occupation given as a Coal Miner. He was reported missing on the 21/03/1918 (spring offensive) and confirmed as a Prisoner Of War. He was released on 3rd December 1918. Comes with P.O.W. details, research re a strike in 1921 in which the Police and Armed Forces were involved. Smith died in Lochelly in 1973 aged 82.
