Description

A scarce original 'Parkside Hospital Macclesfield' silver and enamel nurses badge, bearing the County of Cheshire Arms, the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1960, maker's details 'F&S' (Fattorini & Sons Ltd) and inscribed 'J.Mottram. Very good condition, original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example, together with a 'General Nursing Council registered mental nurse RGM chromium plated qualification badge' the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Limited Birmingham' and awarded to male nurse 'J.MOTTRAM R.M.N. 33589 26.11.62'. also 'S.R.N. 354474. 26.7.65. Very good clean condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, enamel perfect, minimal wear. Diameter 27mm. Parkside Hospital was opened in 1871 and closed in 1997. Its other previous names were: 'Cheshire County Asylum.' 'Cheshire County Mental Hospital.' 'Parkside County Mental Hospital.'
