A rare original circa 1920's period '5th Battalion Essex Regiment Comrades lapel badge'; blue enamel ornate gilt title surround, the centre depicting the Battalion's formation sign part of the 161st Brigade, 54th (East Anglian) Division in red and black enamel on white ground; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'Phillips Aldershot'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no defects to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Diameter 25mm.
