A good original First World War 1914 -1919 period 'Australian Military Forces Returned from Active Service badge'; brass circlet surmounted by a Crown, the centre displaying a rising sun, central crown over tri-part scroll 'Australian Military Forces' and 'A.I.F' below on seeded ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'STOKES & SONS MELB' and official issue number '177682'. Very good condition, complete with original horizontal two loop fittings and retainers. Height 38mm.
