WW1 31st Division Battle Award Sleeve Badge

A scarce original First World War period die cast brass and enamel '31st Division Battle sleeve badge' awarded to members of the Division for meritorious service in the form of crossed white and red roses within a green enamel wreath, this representing the Houses of York and Lancaster The Division mainly comprised of Yorkshire and Lancashire Pals battalions. Good condition, enamel with minor service wear, the original flat loops replaced by brooch pin and hook probably soon after the war. Height approx 29mm.
