A rare original Second World War period 'National Service Humanitarian Workers gilt and enamel lapel badge'; white enamel title surround, the centre bearing a red compass rose, part of a symbol used by Quakers, superimposed with white cross on blue enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'COLLINS LONDON'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel ffitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Diameter 24mm.
