Coronation of King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Sandbach U.D.C. Medal Cheshire

A scarce original bronze oblong souvenir medal, produced for the Coronation on May 12th 1937. The obverse with Crowned busts left and inscribed 'CORONATION 1937 GEORGE VI AND ELIZABETH'; the reverse with pre 1956 shield bearing Sandbach Urban District Council Coat of Arms' with 'PRINCIPIA NON HOMINES' motto and 'Crowned GviR' cypher. Very good condition, complete with original red, white and blue silk ribbon with ornate oak leaf suspension bar and original pin fittings. Length approx 90mm.
