Old Comrades Association of The Army Commandos issue number 7009 badge

A scarce original early issue 'Old Comrades Association of The Army Commandos numbered lapel badge'; chromium plated red enamel circlet, 'COMMANDOS UNITED WE CONQUER' the center depicting a highlighted 'Commando Dagger' on black enamel ground; the reverse with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St. Birmingham' and impressed with official issue number '7009'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel. Diameter 24mm. Formed in 1943 as 'The Old Comrades Association of the Army Commandos', it became known as 'The Commando Association' at a later date.
