WW1 Thumbs Up Good Luck Naval Signal Flag Badge

A scarce original First World War period 'Thumbs Up' good luck badge, in the form of a gilt Naval Signal flag, white enamel with blue edging, signifying that the ship is 'ABOUT TO SAIL'; the central frame depicts the head and shoulders of a naval officer smoking a pipe, with sailing ship in background. Very good condition, complete with original correct pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel. Height approx 30mm
