A very rare original First World War period Irish 'UVF Ulster Volunteer Medical & Nursing Corps gilt and enamel pin badge'; Crowned shamrock wreath with 'U.V.M & N.C. For God & Ulster' title surround, red cross to centre on white enamel ground, below the Red Hand of Ulster with 'Proficiency' scroll below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Sharman. D. Neill Ltd Belfast'.Very good condition, complete with original red, white and blue silk ribbon and suspension bar with pin fittings, no defects to the enamel, ribbon with fraying to suspension bar. Height approx 75mm.
