WW2 Home Guard Invasion Defence lapel badge

A very scarce original Second World War period small gilt crowned circlet badge inlaid with blue enamel, inscribed with scarce full title 'HOME GUARD' to the centre. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, minor surface scratches. Height approx 23mm. Formed in 1940, from the recently raised Local Defence Volunteers (LDV), to counter the threat of invasion from German airborne and seaborne troops (Hitler's 'Operation Sea Lion').
