Description

A good original circa 1930's 'B.B.C. Radio Circle membership badge'; gilt brass title circlet inlaid with blue enamel, the centre depicting a rising sun in gold translucent enamel with rabbit and bird on green ground to the fore and early feature 'LONDON' area title suspended below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Miller 118 Branston St. B'Ham'.Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, actual PIN A REPLACEMENT, no defects to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Diameter 21mm. From 1923 the British Broadcasting Company formed Radio Circles, they were clubs for Children's Hour listeners. A membership fee was paid and a badge was given. The BBC decided to end the Radio Circles in 1934.
