Royal National Mission To Deep Sea Fishermen Young Trawlers Union Badge

A scarce original circa first half of the 20th century 'Royal National Mission To Deep Sea Fishermen pin badge' in the form a double sided white metal fish fob with blue enamel ribbon scroll inscribed 'Young Trawlers Union' the other side with the initials 'RNMDSF and 'IXEUS', this removable from a hook attached to a blue silk ribbon with ornate suspension bar inscribed 'Y.T.U'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, the enamel remains intact, an excellent example. Height approx 84mm. 'The National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen' was founded by Ebenezer Joseph Mather in 1881. It became the 'Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen' in 1896.
