A scarce original circa pre-1949 period 'National Fire brigades Association officers headress badge' heavy duty die stamped white metal convex laurel wreath superimposed over crossed ladders, the centre mounted with an eight pointed gilt star with blue enamel title surround and enamelled 'UNION FLAG' resting within green enamel laurel wreath; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'F & S Rd'. Very good condition, complete with original screw posts and nuts, no defects to the enamel, an excellent example. Size approx 66 x 41mm.
