1935 South Shields Greyhound Club officially numbered badge Tyne and Wear

A rare original pre war period '1935 South Shields Greyhound Racing gilt and enamel pin badge', depicting a greyhound jumping a hurdle with the initials 'S.S.S. (South Shields Staduim); the reverse impressed with official issue number 'G1031', Not Transferable and unusual maker's details 'GRANT & SON S.SHIELD'. Very good condition, no stress marks or damage to the enamel and complete with original pin fittings, slight defect to pin end not affecting its performance, gilt finish remains bright. Height approx 39mm.
