Kidsgrove U.D.C. Civil Defence badge Staffordshire

A scarce original circa 1939 period 'Kidsgrove Urban District Council Civil Defence official home front pin badge'; large silver plated blue enamel title circlet, embossed shield to centre on seeded ground, bearing kid goats in a grove of trees, with blue ribbon scroll below 'CIVIL DEFENCE'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Ltd, Bradford Works Birmingham' (an address format used between 1933 and 1939). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no defects to the enamel, minor service wear. Height 31mm. Kidsgrove Urban District Council was abolished in 1974.
