WW1 St Helens Borough Special Constable Police Badge

A scarce original First World War period 'St Helens Borough Special Constable Police pin badge'; blue enamel gilt title surround, convex gilt button style centre bearing an embossed County of Arms shield with motto 'Ex Terra Lucem' (Light out of the earth); the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example. Diameter 35mm.
