'N.I.B For The Blind' On National Service Home Front Badge

A scarce original circa 1940's period 'On National Service For The Blind pin badge'; large gilt white enamel title surround, the centre bearing the lined initials 'N.I.B' on black and white ground. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel. Height 31mm. The organisation received a Royal Charter in 1948, and changed its name to Royal National Institute for the Blind in 1953.
