A scarce original First World War period large oval gilt badge, in the form of a Union Flag inlaid with red, white and blue enamel, superimposed with the 'West Hartlepool recessed Coat of Arms' with plain gilt 'E Mare Ex Industria' motto and white enamel title scrolls 'Always Ready'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Height approx 48mm.
