A rare original early turn of the 20th century 'John Bull patriotic lapel badge'; gilt brass blue enamel title circlet inscribed 'John Bull 'Civis Britannicus Sum' Latin for 'I am a Roman citizen' the voided centre bearing a patriotic Union (Jack) Flag. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or loss of enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Diameter approx 27mm.
