Description

A scarce original 1930's period 'Burnley General Municipal Hospital, Lancashire badge' the obverse bearing the Burnley County Borough Coat of Arms with motto 'Pretiumque et causa laboris' (The prize and the cause of our labour); the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1934 maker's details 'F&S' (Fattorini & Sons Ltd.) and inscribed to the recipient 'ELIZABETH JANE WALKER' 'FROM 1.7.1931 TO 1.7.1934'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, an excellent example. Height 30mm.
