A scarce original First World War period 'Leicester County Special Constable 1915 lapel badge' gilt brass Crowned blue enamel oval title surround, the centre bearing an embossed Peacock over Cap of Maintenance on white enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London'. Good condition, complete with original horseshoe style lapel fitting, enamel intact with minor surface scratches. Height 43mm.
