British Home Front 'Warden' Helmet 1939 - Nice Used Condition

British MKII Steel Helmet black painted and marked 'Warden' or so-called Air Raid Warden. As used by the civil defence i.e. Home Front. The helmet is fitted with original chinstrap. The shell is clearly 1939 dated and makers marked J.S.S. The helmet is fitted with two white stripes on both sides of the helmet, a feature we do not have come across often. Assumed to be a Corporal rank. An interesting feature is the wool knitting fitted in the top of the helmet. Likely to have been fitted in order to decrease discomfort from the sharp of sheel parts in the liner. A very nice used Home Front helmet with a great patina!
