Luton Grammer School Old Lutonians Club Badge

A good original post 1944 vintage period 'Old Lutonians Club pin badge'; large brass shield bearing three garbs of wheat, inlaid with red enamel and resting on a black enamel Latin motto inscribed 'UBI SEMEN IBI MESSIS' ( the idea being that learning was the sowing of seed, which in due course would yield its harvest ). Very good condition, complete original pin fittings, enamel intact a few minor nicks to scroll. Height 31mm.
