BOAC Airline Engineer Officer gilt and enamel brevet uniform badge

A rare original circa 1940's early pattern 'British Overseas Airways Corporation Engineer Officer badge', gilt brass brevet wing the central 'E' inlaid with blue enamel and surmounted by an Astral Crown. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings complete with split pin, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Width 51mm. British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to become British Airways.
