Japanese WWII Army Company Grade Officers Dress Sword, Family Mon

Original era manufacture. A nice quality, Japanese Army Officers dress sword, Company Grade, with a clean 33 inch chrome steel blade with a false temper line on each side of the edge. The blade is heavier than most, showing light age and wear, with a leather bumper at the base. Ornate cast brass guard in the pattern for a company grade officer, horn grip with triple strand wire binding, one strand is partially missing. Set into the base of the back strap is a rectangular shaped silver family Mon. Dent free chrome finished steel scabbard, with two suspension loops, showing minor staining to the surface. Overall the sword is tight, no rattles and looseness and of a quality better than normally seen.
