WW2 Royal Air Force RAF salvaged fighter aircraft perspex badge

A scarce original Second World War period Royal Air Force workshop trench art pin badge, handcrafted from off-cut of salvaged perspex from a fighter aircraft windscreens in the form of a five-pointed star (a symbol of faith) using parts from a RAF brass button to enhance the centre and possibly sold to raise funds for the war effort. Very good condition, complete with pin fitting. Height 37mm.
