Conservative & Unionist 1948 National Recruiting Campaign badge

A scarce original '1948 Conservative & Unionist National Recruiting Campaign political pin badge' in the form of a gilt title strap inlaid with blue enamel, inscribed 'Conservative & Unionist Onward', the centre depicting the united emblems of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, a Rose, Thistle, Daffodil and Shamrock; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham'. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, a few manufacturers flaws to outer circlet, gilt finish remains bright. Height 28mm.
