USN AN6543- Shearling Helmet

USN flying helmet, in good/very good condition, with no major issues, helmet is the 'winter/high Altitude shearling lined type, by Slote & Klein fitted with ANB-H-1C.D,C. receivers, and correct NAF. 215285-2 black plug, and USN Loom H1/ NDAS 857-1 the inside is in very good condition, with no loss to the shearling, the doughnut on the right hand side has suffered somewhat, with a few areas where the chamois has burst, (see photo's)and had a repair but nothing to serious, the actual leather skull is in very good order, the peak does have some area of damage to the finish, but no rips or tears, and does not detract,( See photo) the brown velvet covered chinstrap is in good order, with no issues, and both buckles are present for the use of a M.S.A. 'C' type oxygen mask ( See Prodger page 302)the label reads as followsContract NumNXs A-36914Slote & Kleinsize Large.The U.S.N. stencil to the rear is very hard to make out, but it is there. condition wise i would rate this helmet 8 out of ten, A rare Winter/ High altitude helmet of the USN,price includes postage to UK mainland onlyThe display head is not included in the sale.
