A scarce original Second World War period 'William Asquith Ltd On War Service 1940 war worker identification badge'; chromium plated shield bearing lion to the centre, over patriotic red, white and blue enamelling; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingam' and official low issue number '454'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel. Height 26mm. Asquith Ltd. (William), Highroad Well Works, Halifax were suppliers of machine-tools to the Aircraft Industry during the war.
