Cleaver Hospital Assistant Nurse badge Heswell Cheshire

A scarce original circa post 1950's period 'Cleaver Hospital assistant nurse pin badge'; good qiuality gilt example bearing green enamel title surround, the centre depicting a 'Cross of Lorraine and Dragon' symbolising the fight against tuberculosis, on white enamel ground. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example. Diameter 32mm. Founded in 1902 as the West Derby, Liverpool, and Toxteth Joint Hospital. Cleaver Sanatorium (c.1920 - 1950).
