Primrose League Honorary Dame membership badge

A good original patriotic 'Primrose League Honorary Dame of the League membership pin badge'; beautifull designed gilt and enamel example bearing the league's Latin motto 'Imperium Et Libertas' (Empire and liberty) and incorporating the Cross of St George and the Cross of St Andrew. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel. Height 32mm. The motto of the 'Primrose League' was 'For God, King and Country'. The League was formed in 1883 to maintain Religion, the Constitution and the British Empire. Its whole purpose was to make the world better to live in and to foster above everthing else that love of Country which is the basis of true patriotism.
