BOAC Airline 25 Years Service 1973 gold pin badge

A scarce original circa 1970's fine quality 'British Overseas Airways Corporation long service gold badge'; oak leaf wreath, the top displaced by an Astral Crown', the central shield inlaid with pale blue enamel and with the Roman numerals 'XXV'; the reverse impressed with Birmingham 9 carat gold hallmarks for 1973 and maker's details 'M.P'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings with safety roller catch in good working order, no defects to the enamel. Height 24mm. British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to form British Airways.
