A good original circa pre-1949 possibly wartime period 'National Fire brigades Association arm badge; circular gilt brass example with blue enamel title surround, rope edged red cross to centre on white enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London'. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings and split pin to reverse, enamel intact, minor service wear.Diameter 27mm.In 1918 the 'Fire Brigade Union' was formed, later to become the National 'Fire Brigades Association' it amalgamated in 1949 with the 'Professional Fire Brigades Association' to become the 'British Fire Services Association'
