WW1 Oldham Special Constable police badge

A scarce original First World War period 'Oldham Borough Special Constable police reserve lapel badge'; large gilt blue enamel title circlet surmounted by a Victorian style Crown, the centre with embossed obsolete 'Arms of Oldham' bearing Latin motto 'Sapere Aude' (Dare to know) granted in 1894. Very good condition, complete with original lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Height approx 45mm.
