WW2 Royal Air Force RAF Comforts Committee volunteer worker economy badge

A scarce original mid Second World War period economy example that has never been enamelled, in the form of a chromium plated title circlet bearing Royal Air Force eagle to voided centre with scroll below 'Voluntary Worker'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings. Height 24mm. During wartime the 'RAF Comforts Committee Voluntary Worker's contributed to the war effort by knitting woollen garments such as socks, jumpers and scarves etc for the Royal Air Force.
