Sentinels of Empire gentlemans supporters badge circa 1931

A rare original badge for the organisation known as the 'Blue Shirts', silver plated blue enamel shield with white enamel Nordic ship's sail with two part scroll and the motto 'Fear God Fear Nought', the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Denton & Down London'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example. Height 26mm. Sentinels of Empire was founded in 1931 by Commander Oliver Stillingworth Locker-Lampson CMG, DSO, his family motto was 'Fear God Fear Nought'.
