WW1 New Brighton Free Canteen badge Merseyside

A scarce original First World War period 'New Brighton Free Canteen for soldiers and sailors badge' large gilt shield inlaid with blue enamel, the centre with ornate shield bearing the letters 'NBFC' in a monogrm form, with white enamel title scroll above and below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'W.O.Lewis Howard St Birmm.' Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel. Height 34mm.
