Auxiliary Air Force AAF officially numbered 248 lapel badge

A very scarce original circa 1924 to 1947 early issue period 'Auxiliary Air Force unmarked silver badge', 'AAF' within a circle surmounted by a 'King's Crown' and resting on a 'RAF' eagle, the reverse impressed with Air Ministry official low issue number '248'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting. Height 24mm. 'AAF Auxiliary Air Force' was formed in 1924. It became the 'RAAF Royal Auxiliary Air Force' in 1947.
