Description

A scarce original early Elizabeth II period 'RAF No 230 O.C.U.' gilt and enamel badge, the centre depicting a sword superimposed over waves with motto 'Temper the Sword', the reverse with maker's details 'H.W.Miller Ltd B'Ham.18'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Height 34mm. RAF No 230 O.C.U. Royal Air Force Operational Conversion Unit was based at Royal Air Force Station Upwood, Cambridgeshire, between 1 Aug 1953 and 1 Feb 1955.
