A scarce original circa 1960's period 'Wright's Biscuits South Shields Mischief Club colourful promotional celluloid tin button badge, depicting an impish little boy holding a large ginger nut biscuit. Very good condition, complete with original pin fitting, colour remains bright, some minor surface scratches, no sign of any foxing. Diameter 32mm. The 'Wright's Biscuits Ltd, South Shields,Tyne and Wear' to boost sales in the early 1960's, drafted in the artist 'Mabel Lucie Attwell' a popular illustrator of fairytale and nursery rhyme books, to create 'Mischief' which became the Wright's company trademark. Children could join the Mischief Club and get a special badge.
