A scarce original circa 1930's 1940's period 'Metropolitan Police Athletic Association No 3 District Sports Club MPAA membership badge', silver plated quatrefoil bearing blue enamel title surround, with a King's Crown to centre on white enamel ground; the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details 'A.E.Poston & Co Ltd London' a retailing silversmiths, launched in the late 1920's in Lonsdale House, Dowgate Hill, London. Good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel, silver plated finish now worn back to brass, otherwise a very good example. Height 28mm.
