Description

A scarce original circa 1919 period fine quality silver tribute badge, in the form of a red enamel title surround 'Voluntary War Service 1915 -1919, the white enamel centre bearing blue shield with six Martlets, a mythical bird from the East Sussex County Coat of Arms, with additional title bar above 'Graylingwell War Hospital'; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1919 and maker's details 'T.F' (Thomas Fattorini ). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect. An excellent example. Diameter 31mm.
