Coldstream Guards Comforts Fund officially numbered badge

A very scarce original circa 1940s period 'Coldstream Guards Comforts Fund pin badge' in the form of a nickel plated shield, bearing blue enamel title surround incorporating the initials 'V S' and displaying a Garter Star with 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense' on red enamel ground to the centre; the reverse impressed with official low issue number '340' and maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel. Height 29mm.
