WW1 On War Service 1915 munition workers badge Mappin & Webb R22043

A good original First World War period official war workers gilt brass badge, the voided centre bearing the 'Board of Ordnance' shield; the reverse impressed with maker's details in relief 'Mappin & Webb Ltd Sheffield & London' the letter 'R' and official issue number '22043. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, gilt remains bright, an exceptional example. Height 43mm.
