A scarce original wartime period 'Volunteer Agricultural Camp Lend A Hand On The Land celluloid tin button badge', depicting a large hand with superimposed farm pitch folk and 'Volunteer Vac' title. Very good clean condition, complete with original pin fitting, colour remains bright, no sign of any foxing, an excellent example. Diameter 32mm. Worn by the much needed volunteer workers who were encouraged by the annual campaigns organised by the County War Agricultural Committees to take working holidays on farms to ease the acute labour shortage at harvest time.
